Baby Love

Out of the isolettes!

Thursday, July 24th

This is a HUGE milestone in the Nicu and actually one of the last ones before you get ready to go home.  When we first came to the 8th floor they told me when the girls reached 1800 grams that was a huge milestone, it is at that point that they are taken out of the isolettes and put into open air cribs.  They usually wait until the babies are that big so they can regulate their own temperature.  If they can keep their temps up for 48 hrs after being taken out of the isolette then there is no medical reason to keep them, so they can come home!!

On Thursday Katie got moved out of her Isolette and into open air crib at 6 pm.  Lauren was also moved into her new crib at 3 am that next morning.

Way to go my little champs, only a few more days!!!
